La Plagne is a firm favourite for family skiers and those that like high altitude slopes with extensive skiing. La Plagne has glacier skiing at Plagne Bellecôte which extends right up to 3250 metres. From here you will find up to 2000m of vertical drop, with black and red slopes, and a seemingly endless supply of powder, including some of the longest descents in France. The resort is well known as a beginners’ and intermediates’ paradise with an abundance of easily accessible nursery slopes and miles of motorway pistes. With skiing at a lung challenging altitude, La Plagne is already a snow-sure and extensive ski area in its own right. Linked to Les Arcs, even fast and experienced skiers would be hard pushed to cover the lots of kms of piste that the Paradiski has to offer in a week. Our home is close to the piste and lift of Plagne Centre, perched at 1800m in the very heart of the ski domain. The lift system is excellent, with fast access to the high reds off La Grande Rochette and the long easy blues above Aime 2000. A paradise for beginners, intermediates will also feel instantly at home on the miles of gentle blues with some of the longest vertical descents in the whole of the Alps. Once you’ve found your ski legs, the Bellecôte Glacier reds are also eminently achievable, and for the brave, the more challenging blacks beyond. Experts will relish the vast and exhilarating off-piste bowls which are tracked much more slowly than the high-profile resorts.
