With plenty to do off the slopes and a charming resort centre, it is a fantastic holiday base especially for families. Both the ski school and Kindergarten have an excellent reputation and the big indoor swimming pool especially designed for children with its slides and water canons will no doubt be popular with the kids. Ski Amadé

The huge Ski Amadé consists of five different areas: Salzburger Sportwelt, Hochkönig, Schladming-Dachstein, Gastein and Großarltal. These areas are among the best in the world and the world championships are held here regularly. This area also benefits from a long season and the Dachstein glacier can often be skied into April. Is there little snow when you are travelling? No problem. Snowblowers are ready to cover up to 88% of the slopes with a beautiful white powder coating. The pretty alpine village of Wagrain is a great destination for families, beginners, and confident beginners that enjoy the long blue runs that Wagrain has to offer. The rest of the Wagrain ski area, Salzburger Sportwelt, is an extensive area with a with a good variety of terrain to suit all types of skier. From Wagrain you can take advantage of the extensive lift system to cruise to St. Johann in Pongau, the hamlet of Alpendorf, Kleinarl, Flachau and Flachauwinkl.
