Expensive? It is not unlikely that you are thinking: ‘This sounds very appealing, but it can’t be helped that it comes with a hefty price tag’. But, funnily enough, this is not the case at all. Especially the snacks and drinks between meals often make a winter sports holiday expensive. Make no mistake, if you decide to make your own breakfast and dinner, you will mostly have to rely on the local supermarket, with prices that are definitely not the same as in your country. Our formula is clearly on the rise as we notice that consumers are fed up with expensive hotels. As you see with us: ‘Affordable luxury due to the many extras included’. With us surprises, but no surcharges. One fixed price! Combining freedom and care, a winter sports holiday according to the CateredSkiChalets.com formula is attractively priced.

We are a company that has been buying original A-brands and regional products directly from the Austrian, French and Italian specialist catering wholesalers at very competitive prices since 1993, and at a rate three to four times lower than the prices in the local supermarket in the Alpine villages where you would shop as a tourist if you were to book an apartment or a self-catering chalet for example. Cut and shaved you will get all the way if you eat out here. The tendency is that the number of restaurants in the Alps is decreasing, partly due to high energy prices and the difficulty of getting staff that makes prices literally skyrocket. With eating out in a restaurant, it’s your turn, the price of a glass of mineral water doesn’t make you happy, let alone a glass of wine or a beer.

With us, you also eat out, but then in your own private restaurant in your own ski chalet with your own serving chalet staff, your own house wine and you can also pass on your dietary requirements to your own chalet chef and everything is totally inclusive. Do you want to spend your time searching for scarce and expensive diet products in a city? Because in your village you really not going to find it. You also stay within your budget and save a lot of money by après-skiing for free in your own ski chalet. Build your own party here and you won’t have to put down a penny extra on the spot. ‘A round on the house’, every single time! We don’t say it for nothing: ‘party every day, all you can drink’.

The traditional old-fashioned winter sports atmosphere revives in the cosy ski chalets carefully selected in the best ski resorts of Austria, France and Italy. Going on winter sports holiday with friends, family, colleagues, rowing team, football team, year club or any other group will be a special experience with CateredSkiChalets.com. Since 1993, we have been striving to give you a relaxed holiday feeling in an informal ambiance and ensure that your holiday is above all carefree. The basis for this is a stay in a charming chalet, each with its own specific charm, from simple to luxurious, near the après-ski or completely ski-in/ski-out, (outdoor) hot-tub bubble bath or sauna and for every budget.

A warm welcome

Skichalets.nl responds to the wishes of many winter sports enthusiasts who want to enjoy a cosy holiday with family and friends under one roof. Having breakfast together, après-ski, after-dinner dining and sitting cosily around the fireplace. We aim to give you a special and relaxed holiday feeling in a ski chalet where hospitality, cosiness and quality are important and where you feel like at home, but without having to do your shopping, take care of your breakfast and dinner and without having to do the housework or cleaning. Because you don’t want to do any of that during your holidays, do you? Our winter sports holidays are for those who want to be on the slopes and not in the supermarket.

Hotel or apartment

Looking forward to your ski and snowboarding holiday? Plenty of fresh air, that special light, that ride, that last awesome run of the day. Wonderful skiing or snowboarding in the fresh snow. Feeling free as you glide through the ‘winter wonderland’. Riding for miles or just taking it easy and stopping for a cappuccino in the warm winter sun on one of the many terraces. Then, at the end of your day’s skiing, relax together and après-ski in a cozy mountain hut. How lovely is that! If you have already got the urge to go, you now have to decide how to satisfy it. Book a hotel? There is definitely something to be said for that. Nice and tidy, no shopping, no preparing breakfast or dinner and a clean and tidy room every day. But a hotel is often impersonal, a bit more formal and you can never be intimate together. And the prices of a hotel in a ski resort do not lie. You can also opt for an apartment, and an authentic chalet on the slopes is, of course, the best option.
But yes, the downside is that you have to spend your precious free time shopping in the often expensive supermarket, arguing about who makes breakfast, who cooks for the whole party in the evening and who cleans up. And if you want to go out to eat with a group, you have to book the restaurant a few days in advance, you’re stuck at a certain time, and if you’re having a drink somewhere and you’re a few minutes late, you lose your table. Also, the number of restaurants in winter sports villages is decreasing. And you don’t really want to bother with this at all: you want to ski and après-ski. Hassle-free enjoying.

The solution

Did you know that you can very easily combine the best of both worlds? Enjoying the service, the luxury and the convenience as you get in a hotel and the comfort, freedom, cosiness, space and privacy of your own chalet. Introduced in the 1960’s under the name catered chalet, we have since 1993 developed this into our own specific form of winter sports accommodation with the name catered ski chalet. Mostly accommodations in the past run as a hotel, guesthouse or garni by families that are now managed by CateredSkiChalets.com. How nice, breakfast is provided for you every day.

As soon as you’re out the door, the chores are done for you and the place is kept clean. And when you come home from skiing and boarding, a drink will be waiting for you with something tasty from our own kitchen. In the evening, you will enjoy a delicious three course dinner that your own chalet staff has quietly prepared for you in the background. Wonderful… you no longer have to go into the kitchen and everything is just ‘at home’ in your own cosy ski chalet. You enjoy the benefits, plenty of living space and affordability of a chalet, but experience the pampering that comes with a hotel. Your own home in the snow, but without the shopping and cooking.

We believe you shouldn’t have to worry about things you have to do at home when you’re on holiday. Honestly, wouldn’t you love to stay in a ski chalet this winter with your partner, your group of friends, your sports club, your family, your relatives with children and grandchildren? After an eight to ten hours in the car, the welcome signs appear at the beginning of the ski village. Finally, you have arrived. Perfect, you can park in front and an enthusiastic couple comes out to greet you and to help you unload your bags. That turns out to be the chalet staff. You are warmly welcomed. The familiar smell of coffee and homemade Apfelstrudl dominates the ski chalet. Just relax with a delicious cup while the chalet staff tell you all about the ins and outs of the ski area, the village, the menu and the times you want to have breakfast, dinner and whatnot.

You’ve been given the key to your room, the beds are tightly made with freshly washed linen and the towels are on your bed. All you have to do is unpack your suitcase and put your skis in the ski locker, because there’s no need to go after the groceries, the chalet staff have already done that for you, and your holiday can begin. Make yourself comfortable in the living and dining room to enjoy a celebratory glass of bubbly with some fresh homemade delicacies from your own chalets’ kitchen, because that’s what you deserve after such a trip. If your chalet staff have time to spare, they might just take you to ski pass office, ski hire or ski school. Along the way, they will point out the nicest après-ski bars, the tourist office, authentic restaurants and walk you past the main lifts into the centre. The ski shop will fit you with the right skis, boards and boots. Voilà, you can hit the slopes right away. In consultation with the chalet staff, you decide not to make it too late on the first day and have dinner around seven in the evening. After the first afternoon on the slopes, tired from the journey, the great outdoors and the skiing, you return to the ski chalet, where coffee and tea are ready and the scent of homemade cream puffs meets you.

That’s what it means to come home. The chalet staff is busy in the kitchen preparing the three course dinner, while you relax with your friends, family or colleagues, chat by the fireplace or freshen up. By then, the table is nicely set and you can sit back and relax. You will be spoiled. To start with, prawns deep-fried in filo pastry with a basil coulis, monkfish cheeks with beurre blanc, glazed carrots and celeriac puree as the main course, and champagne bavarois with white chocolate to finish. Good glass of wine with it, mmm… After a delicious dinner, you will enjoy a cup of coffee or a drink by the fireplace, while the chalet staff clear the table, load the dishwasher and make the kitchen shine again. Then roll into your made-up bed, or sit back and enjoy a nightcap. The next morning, you wake up in the white Alpine scenery and the chalet staff have already been working on breakfast for a while.

You head downstairs feeling rested. The smell of warm rolls and coffee wafts towards you and you plop down in your chair at the cosily laid breakfast table, where a deliciously extensive breakfast with all the trimmings is ready and waiting for you. After breakfast, you are kindly requested not to help clear up, after all, you are on holiday. You can put your skis on straight away, because the chalet staff will clean up the breakfast mess, wash the dishes, make a cleaning tour of the common areas and do the shopping. You come home every day to a neat and tidy living and dining room. That is truly carefree enjoyment. No fuss about who has to cook or do the washing up. You can hit the slopes without a care in the world. A feeling of freedom and peace overtakes you in a pleasant way when you take the lift to the top in a relaxed manner. You reflect on the first day of this winter holiday. This is going to be a great week. Skiing and boarding every day, then playing a game with your own little club, having a drink together in your own living and dining room or reading a book. No strangers, no big impersonal spaces like a hotel lobby can be. And at the end of the week, you go home satisfied but slightly reluctant.

Chalet staff

To make your holiday as carefree and flawless as possible, there is a chalet staff, usually consisting of an enthusiastic and professional English-speaking couple. Over 21 years old in any case, but you can also expect over-50s with a lot of experience. So from diverse walks of life. But what they all have in common is that they are kind, helpful, friendly, hospitable, courteous and share a passion for skiing, boarding, the Alps, cooking and, above all, pampering you. Each has his or her unique and special background and experience. They provide a casual, flexible and free atmosphere. You feel like home with them. They are working in the background for you. Plus… no need to worry about household chores. Don’t spend your precious free time doing the shopping, cooking food, washing up, mopping, vacuuming. Until the final cleaning of the ski chalet, you can forget all those tasks during our holidays, because they are nicely taken out of your hands by your chalet staff.

You can contact them for everything else you want to arrange, tips such as the best restaurants, sporting and cultural activities, places of interest, scenic highlights, where to find the most beautiful mountain huts, where to drink the best cappuccino on the sunniest terrace, places with spectacular views, piste restaurants serving authentic local cuisine or descents not frequented by many people and not to be missed. To speak to them, you don’t have to go looking for them, because in many cases the chalet staff have their own place in the ski chalets. And… only in sight when necessary. Because, of course, they also go their own way. The chalet staff are there for you, to help you with everything, and are always available by phone, by WhatsApp and also when you are out and about. They adjust themselves to your wishes as much as possible, because by mutual agreement you can determine the times for breakfast, après-ski snacks and dinner so that you have optimal freedom in getting up early, sleep late and enjoy your après-ski.

In short, this is maximum enjoyment of your winter sports holiday. Some may have time for it and others may not, and it is not part of your chalet staff’s duties, but they might be able to tell you a bit about ski and snowboard hire, ski and snowboard lessons and ski passes. Or even that the ski passes are already waiting for you on arrival. So just ask them, who knows. Halfway through the week, usually on Tuesdays and perhaps by mutual agreement, the chalet staff have a well-deserved day off after serving breakfast and cleaning up. However, when you return from the slopes, the guest fridge is fully stocked for you and you can make your own coffee and tea. So there is no dinner on this evening. If you are with a group, our advice is to book a restaurant early, even before arrival. Your chalet staff will no doubt know a nice, good and cosy restaurant that meets your needs, so send them an e-mail or app. They might also want to make a reservation for you.

It could also be the case that you meet chalet staff who, for example, organise a raclette evening in a cosy authentic Almhütte complemented by a toboggan ride, or who want to earn a little extra money and provide a cheese and/or meat fondue at home in your own ski chalet. Of course, this has a non-committal character, because… everything is allowed and nothing is required. You can also have food delivered. And you can heat up a ready-made meal in the kitchen yourself or put a pizza from the supermarket in the oven by mutual agreement with the chalet staff. Cooking yourself in the kitchen is unfortunately not possible.

Our chalet staff are not only full of attention to detail, they also want to give guests a winter sports holiday that will not soon be forgotten. Our guests write glowing reviews of our chalet staff for a reason.

Your privacy

Guest privacy comes first and all naturally. If you are not familiar with our catered ski chalet formula, we can well imagine that you might think that such a chalet staff might nevertheless somewhat infringe on your privacy when you are together and frequently interfere with your ski holiday. We can assure you that no one needs to worry about that in any way. Guests of CateredSkiChalets.com truly experience privacy and freedom and feel at ease with the ‘invisible’ presence of the chalet staff. The chalet staff are discreet and only in sight when necessary and required. A fine combination of providing service at the right time on the one hand and taking a pass on the other.

When you’re with family or friends in a restaurant, you don’t experience the staff listening in and getting involved in a discussion. You won’t find any comments in our reviews at the top of the homepage about the chalet staff invading your privacy. You really only have the advantages of such a chalet staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they seem to understand your need for privacy perfectly. In a catered ski chalet you are not a guest of your chalet staff like in a bed and breakfast. Of course, it is and remains your home that you have free access to 24 hours a day and can do whatever you want, just as you would in an apartment or self catering chalet. By this we actually mean to say that there is no one dictating how you should dress, how much you can drink or what music you should listen to. Nor is it the case that the chalet staff will sit at your table for a drink and a chat or to join you for dinner. Unless, of course, you find that cosy. You decide, it’s your ski chalet and it’s your holiday.

Party every day! ‘All Inclusive’ all drinks. Free and unlimited all day long.

No more rushing to the supermarket just before you leave home or dragging bags full of groceries when you arrive from your trip, only to take half of it back home in your car at the end of the holiday. So no more full cars with cans of beer, bottles of wine, soft drinks, coffee and whatnot. The ideal thing about our formula is that all drinks are ‘All Inclusive’ in the ski chalet during your entire stay from morning to night, so unlimited and free of charge, except spirits. Various drinks are offered such as red wine, white wine, beer, non-alcoholic beer, soft drinks, (fruit) juices, coffee and tea. No private label brands from the supermarket, but the original A-brands. No need to ask for a beer or wine every time, just grab your own drink from the guest fridge. And if you find it cosy to make your own coffee and tea, of course you can do that too. Whenever you like. Of course, you can also buy and enjoy your own crisps, nibbles, pieces of cheese, sausages and other locally-made treats. We can’t say it often enough, it’s your home and you have all the freedom you need.

Breakfast

In the morning, while you are still turning around or taking a refreshing shower, the chalet staff will be already busy preparing breakfast. So you don’t have to go out in the cold to go to the village bakery before dawn, but can sit down at the table before a fantastic new day of skiing begins. Breakfast can be served in buffet style or on the table and includes various fresh rolls, baguettes, croissants, crackers, coffee, various teas, orange juice, apple juice, fruit juices, milk, cold meats, cheese, boiled egg/scrambled eggs/omelet, sweet toppings, various jams, Nutella, cheese spread, natural yoghurt, fruit yoghurt, muesli, cornflakes, oatmeal and fresh fruit. The perfect ingredients for a long day of skiing and boarding. Breakfast is served between 07.30 and 09.00am. If you want to be the first at the lift, or if you want to take it easy in the morning and you have booked the whole ski chalet, simply arrange a time for breakfast with your chalet staff.

Après-ski snacks

While you are making beautiful runs, the chalet staff are busy chilling all the drinks and preparing the après-ski snacks. After an active day on the slopes, step into your own warm ski chalet with red cheeks from the cold and the delicious smell of something fresh and homemade from the oven meets you, such as:

  • Scones with strawberry jam
  • Crostini of artichokes & chives
  • Chocolate Guinness cake
  • Baked camembert
  • Pear custard bars
  • Quiche leekraine
  • Chocolate chip cookie blondies
  • Cheese and onion straws
  • Dutch speculaas
  • Spinach and feta rolls
  • Blue cheese and pear tartlets
  • Lemon crunch cake
  • Frankfurter sausages in puff pastry

So sometimes you enjoy something sweet, other times something savoury. A changing selection complemented by hot chocolate, Glühwein/vin chaud or another drink.

Dinner

We love to make our guests feel at home and what better way to do this than to cook delicious meals with passion. For us, delicious and sumptuous food is an important part of a successful winter sports holiday. We like nothing better than hearing ‘mmm’ when everyone is enjoying a nice meal. The chalet staff therefore devote a lot of time, care and attention to preparing the meals. We can be brief about the quality of food; our menus are carefully composed and prepared with love for the job. Each meal is a pleasant surprise and differs per ski chalet. We do not have a customised standard menu that is rolled out in every ski chalet every year like other catered chalet companies. We have chalet staff in between who want to see, smell, feel and taste the products in real life like a professional chef and they don’t want to work with a set weekly menu we have laid out. They want to vary, do something different every week and make refinements and adjustments based on guests’ experiences. That is one of the things they love about the job, so we give them all the freedom they need. So you might even be treated to a local dish like the all-time classic tartiflette with Reblochon Alpine cheese or the authentic gratin de ravioles Dauphiné.

Six times a week, you can enjoy a delicious, nutritious, generously portioned, daily fresh and prepared in-house with love and care, complete dinners with starter, main course and dessert made mostly of local produce. And with us, no bag-in-box wine as is often the case with other providers of catered chalets. This wine is in a plastic bag and you can still taste it. There is always coffee and tea after dinner. The evenings will feel like relaxed dinners at home. These promise to be cosy and tasty evenings. And after dinner, the table will be cleared for you, the dirty dishes put in the dishwasher for you and the place tidied up. All you have to do is enjoy and linger with your friends. Dinner will be served between 06.00 and 07.30pm. Prior to the start of the winter season, the chalet staff have, on their own initiative, compiled a menu where, within reasonable limits, there is room for your own input if there is something you do or do not like. Only the party leader can make this known in writing directly at the time of booking, because if you communicate this on the spot at arrival, the chalet staff can unfortunately no longer do anything with it because they do the groceries well in advance. The above also applies if special requests such as dietary, vegetarian, lactose intolerance, gluten-free, food allergy and food intolerance need to be taken into account.

Please allow for a supplement of up to € 100,- per person per week to cover additional costs, as in the Alps these products may not always be available and scarce, and if they are in stock they will therefore carry a high price tag. The request will be given as much attention as possible, but there is no guarantee that it will be met in full. It is important to know that we cannot prevent a person with a peanut and/or nut allergy from coming into contact with peanuts and nuts, nor through inhalation. Also, we can never guarantee that products from our suppliers cannot contain peanuts and nuts and/or no traces of peanuts and nuts and therefore products may have been treated in a non-peanut and nut-free environment. We cannot comply with a FODMAP diet.

The risk remains that, for example, a dish may contain a certain ingredient which causes an allergic reaction and may have medical consequences and we cannot be held responsible for this. If a diet must be strictly adhered to and in order to avoid any risk, it is strongly recommended that you bring your own food.

De lunch

With any chalet operator, lunch is never included, and neither is it with us. You are not supposed to make a packed lunch from breakfast, nor are you supposed to take a can or bottle from the guest fridge to put in your backpack. The chalet staff will also not make a packed lunch for a fee. You ask your chalet staff for the address of the local bakery so that a bag of bread rolls could be waiting for you at the door every morning, which of course you then pay for yourself. Bread spreads can be kept in the guest fridge.

Ideal wintersport formula if you are with children

The UK Magazine ‘Absolutely Mama’ has already written about us that if you want to go on a winter sports holiday with (small) children, then our formula is just right.

Book a whole ski chalet

Experience the intimacy and privacy of your own group with a ‘home from home’ feeling and rent a whole ski chalet exclusively for your own party and no other guests will be added by us.

Discount by booking a whole ski chalet
The price you pay for booking a whole ski chalet for a week is calculated as follows. If two figures are given for the capacity of a ski chalet than the lower figure is the ideal comfortable occupancy. The higher figure is the total number of beds available. By booking a whole chalet the price will be based on the lower figure. By booking above this lower figure a discount applies for compensation for the inconvenience of limited space and that sanitary facilities should be shared with more. This discount is 30% for an adult, children under 1 year of age are staying for free, children aged 1 up to and including 3 years old pay € 250,- and 30% discount for children aged 4 up to and including 10 years old. The discount applies only for full booked weeks.

Empty bed discount
When by booking a whole chalet the occupancy is below the lower figure the discount is € 100,- per unused bed. This applies only for the empty beds up to and including the required lower figure.

Book one or more rooms
If you are travelling alone, as a couple, with children or with a small group, you are not obliged to rent the whole ski chalet. You can also just book one or more rooms and the ski chalet then functions as a small hotel/guesthouse where you can enjoy your ski holiday together with other like-minded guests. A triple or quad room can already be booked by two people, so you don’t have to pay extra for the remaining unoccupied beds. Together, you will then share the living and dining room, which can be very cosy and pleasant precisely because you can, without obligations, meet other winter sports enthusiasts. Fellow travellers who can share the same passion as winter sports, the Alps, travelling and loving good food with fine wines. To reminisce and chat with each other, exchange the day’s sporting experiences, maybe go on a ski tour together the next day or meet up for lunch. Companionship can be great fun and sociable, if it clicks, but individual freedom is also important, and of course it is up to you to decide how far you want to go with it.

Discount by booking one or more rooms
The price you pay for booking one or more rooms for a week is calculated as follows. Staying in a room is that with two full paying persons children under 1 year of age are staying for free, children aged 1 up to and including 3 years old will benefit from paying € 250,- and for children aged 4 up to and including 10 years old enjoy 30% discount.

Supplement single use double room
If you are alone then you can definitely book a room. As single rooms are very rare, in most cases you will book a double room with a supplement. The amount of this supplement depends very much on the period and varies per week, please enquire.

Short and flexible stay

Are you like us so fond of winter sports that you like to go several times a season. Or don’t actually have a whole week off to go on ski holiday. Then a short and flexible stay in a ski chalet is an excellent choice. As well as the regular Saturday to Saturday week package it is also possible to stay in a catered ski chalet for just a few days. We have the ski chalets in our own management so we can be very flexible with the length of your stay. During your stay you can even book one or more extra days. Easy, fast and flexible.

Corporate ski holiday

Also consider a catered ski chalet holiday for a company ski trip. It is perfect for an incentive, relationship event or teambuilding, for example. When you go on a ski holiday with a company, it’s usually for a few days and you don’t want to be busy with all the hassle. You want to spend those precious days with as few besognes as possible and want everyone in the company to have a nice carefree time that will be talked about for a long time. Communication is key and we at the office in The Netherlands have a direct line to our chalet staff at the ski chalet, so everything is negotiable. It is also nice to know that the chalet staff speak English, know what you want and can think with you. They can organise many things for you in advance or on the spot. They know the best spots in the ski area and in the village, the cosiest après-ski tents, the best piste restaurants for lunch, cosy activities such as a tobogganing evening with a drink and a bite to eat in an authentic alpine hut. They take into account where you prefer to be at the time. Our travel experts at the office know where to go for ski hire, ski passes and ski lessons, and if you want, we can arrange this for you before departure so you can start enjoying as soon as possible. It is also a nice thought to have your drink and a bite to eat organised by a chalet staff who are always in your neighbourhood.

If your group is larger than the capacity of our ski chalets, we can also arrange hotel accommodation in various Austrian destinations, from basic to luxury, as well as airport transfers if you prefer.

Celebrating something?

If it is someone’s birthday during your ski holiday and you want streamers, a birthday cake with candles or a massage or beauty treatment in the ski chalet as a present, we will be happy to think along with you and can usually arrange this for you.

Take note when comparing us to another chalet operator

It is absolutely not our intention to badmouth other chalet operators, as everyone does it in their own way, however these are often things you do not think about when choosing your ski holiday and with which we simply want to help you before you make a choice.

On the internet you will find many (travel) organisations that just have a website, work from home and are not affiliated with any branch association. Pressing the payment button is easy, but you never know where your money will end up. CateredSkiChalets.com is a trading name of the legal entity Skichalets.nl Ltd, exists since 1993, has a physical office in the Dutch village Reeuwijk, right next to Gouda, where you are always welcome, even without an appointment, and the most important thing is that if you transfer money to our bank account and something happens to our travel organisation, you are 100% financially covered and all your payments will be neatly refunded to your bank account. That is a safe and reassuring thought. The institute that monitors and strictly controls us is the financial travel security fund SGR, comparable with ATOL in the United Kingdom. We have to meet very high financial and solvency requirements, and our reputable and accredited accounting firm has to complete all the formalities required by the SGR, with a strict annual audit by the SGR. Do you care that the money you paid us is in good and reliable hands with 100% security? If so, book with us. No other catered chalet operator in the Netherlands is a member of this SGR.

All our ski chalets are under our own management, so when you book a ski chalet with us, you are really booking with us and not through an intermediary who adds their profit surcharge, as tour operators do. So with us you always have the lowest price guarantee.

There are travel companies where you can additionally book a catering service in your chalet. Food is delivered on a ‘Meals on Wheels’ principle. Hired catering where central kitchens are used to prepare and deliver standardised meals in a massive way. This is definitely not our idea of how a catered chalet holiday should be. With us, food has been cooked for you with attention and passion. There are also tour operators who offer a catering service in your chalet. The kitchen cupboards are then filled with food packages of instant food and harmful e-number sauces from packets and where you still have to cook, set the table, clean up and load and unload the dishwasher. One evening, they take completely the easy way out and pretend it is an authentic alpine cheese fondue evening, but all you get is a bag from the supermarket that you have to cut open and heat up in a pan. The relatively new concept of a ‘contactless catered chalet’ is also not our thing where you reheat food and have to cook monotonous menus and do all the work yourself and so on.

If you book a whole chalet with other chalet operators, you will not get the € 100,- discount per person or per bed if you are with fewer people.

The revenue model you see with other chalet operators is that you have to pay additionally for extra comforts like a towel package and a culinary surprise like fresh and homemade sweet and savoury après-ski snacks.

As well, at other chalet operators you will get a maximum of two measured glasses of wine during dinner and you must pay extra for all other drinks. With us, there are no hidden costs or surcharges, but everything is really included, which makes us exclusive.

If you compare us to other chalet tour operators, you’ll find that we don’t require you on the chalet staff’s day off to make your own breakfast, get bread, set the table and after that clear away and wash up. Or one of those ‘self-service’ breakfasts that are prepared the night before which may seem like a convenience at first, but where it simply comes down to you having to fetch the breakfast stuff from the kitchen yourself, set the table yourself, clear it away yourself and put it in the dishwasher. So you have work to do while you are on holiday. With us, it’s breakfast every day, which the chalet staff are happy to take care of for you, including clearing away and cleaning up.

With us, you do not have to pay extra in administration and booking fees if you later want to add extra people or make changes to your booking. However, most travel organisations will charge you for this.

The chalet staff are working for our company and they are on our payroll. We know them all personally as many have worked for us for many years. We are therefore in close contact with our chalet staff and can pass on any requests and all your expressed wishes you may have directly to them.

And because they are our own ski chalets, we can tell you all about them and you have your own contact person.

Perhaps from the old box, but we still want to mention it, because such a situation could happen again and our guests would be well aware of the importance of our membership of the financial travel security fund SGR, comparable with ATOL in the United Kingdom. During the corona pandemic there were chalet operators who would charge you extra to get your money back if you cancelled your ski holiday. This was simply ignorant and so we absolutely did not participate in that. With us you could simply choose between a voucher guaranteed by the SGR or a refund of the money you have already paid into your bank account. No hidden small print with us, then or now.

A special thank you to the many skiers and boarders who have travelled with us over the years. Above all, it is great to see so many of you come back to us year after year. Of course, we wish you much more, but unfortunately that is simply not possible, so as a token of our appreciation, we reward you if you book with us again with a loyalty discount.

Practical information

Your stay will start from 04.00pm and is it possible to access the rooms. Before this time the chalet staff are busy cleaning and we strongly advise you not to arrive earlier. If you really do want to arrive earlier, please contact the chalet staff at least two weeks before your arrival to discuss this. If they agree then you can leave your luggage in a room and change there. On the departure day is check-out no later than 10.00am.

If you are travelling by coach, you usually leave in the late afternoon and is it possible to leave your luggage in the ski chalet until departure, giving you an extra day on the slopes. Showering and dressing are unfortunately no longer possible as the new guests have already arrived.

The kitchen is the working area of the chalet staff and as this is where items and food are stored for your breakfast, après-ski snacks and dinner, they bear responsibility for this and, unfortunately, the kitchen cannot be used. We hope you have understanding for this. However, if you stay at home for a day you can put the coffee machine, kettle and microwave from the kitchen in the living and dining room. If you really want to use the kitchen, this might be possible, after mutual agreement with your chalet staff. If they agree, it will only be to prepare lunch, heat up food for your baby, heat up a ready-made meal on the chalet staff’s night off or put a pizza from the supermarket in the oven. If you have discussed this with the chalet staff and they agree, if you then leave everything clean and tidy, your chalet staff really appreciate it.

On arrival, beds are provided with bed linen and during your stay the beds will not be made again as we find that guests are not so keen on the chalet staff coming into the rooms. Two towels are provided for you on arrival and these will be replaced by two clean ones halfway through the week. If you find this too little, please bring extra from home.

In principle, pets are not allowed. Exceptions may perhaps be made if a ski chalet is fully booked and after mutual agreement with the office in The Netherlands. Verbal agreements do not apply, but must be confirmed by e-mail from the Dutch office.

If there is a washing machine then it is for the private use of the chalet staff, but if something unexpected happens and you ask the chalet staff then it might be allowed to do some laundry.

Smoking is not permitted in any of the rooms. If you wish to smoke outside the chalet, we would greatly appreciate it if you would ask the chalet staff for an ashtray. Please do not smoke near an open door or window, another person may be inconvenienced.

You will receive the travel information by e-mail about two weeks before arrival once full payment has been received. This contains the address details of the ski chalet, directions and contact details of the chalet staff.

There is a television and it varies per ski chalet which channels are available. So if you want to watch something specific, contact your chalet staff in advance.

Free Wi-Fi internet is available in the living and dining room. In your bedroom, usually too, but it can happen that there is no coverage here. The signal in the mountains can be much weaker than what you are used to at home. E-mail, WhatsApp and social media will work, but streaming, gaming and downloading may be difficult or even impossible.

In most cases you can park your car free of charge at the ski chalet. The number of parking spaces may be limited, so we advise you to contact the chalet staff in advance about availability.
Charging an electric car is not included in the holiday price. There is no charging station and/or charging cable available. Public charging stations are usually available at the holiday destination. Please check to be sure and download the free app: Chargemap.com.
