Skichalet Dame Blanche - La Tania

Chalet Dame Blanche enjoy a superb location in the heart of La Tania just 50 metres from the piste to the lift. You can ski virtually to and from the chalet using the green run 'Plan Fontaine'. Since it was built chalet Dame Blanche has proved to be very popular with guests. It is a spacious, modern, freestanding and attractively designed chalet and provides very high quality accommodation.  Amongst the pine trees in a  and built on a hillside, chalet Dame Blanche boasts fabulous views over the valley plus modern comforts such as a flatscreen TV and DVD/CD player with freeview Sky TV/video, iPod dock, Nintendo Wii, heated boot room, outdoor hot tub and fireplace. The lounge and dining areas are light and spaciaous and designed to be informal and relaxing, with comfortable sofas, a log fireplace and a long dining table with plenty of elbow room and large floor to ceiling picture windows offering fantastic views of the surrounding peaks. The chalet is furnished to a high standard, it has seven ensuite twin bedrooms, six with baths, and one with a shower. Skiers will delight to have a drink on the terrace/balcony before sinking into the hot-tub in the garden to complete the après-ski relaxation regime. Surrounded by pine trees and with a lovely view of the Bozel valley its location is fantastically close to the ‘Moretta Blanche' run and it's great for the après-ski too, only a five minute stroll from the centre of La Tania. Your chalet staff lives in a separate part of your chalet.

Every morning an extensive breakfast. When you go skiing the chalet staff will clear the table and taking care of the housekeeping. After skiing there is a hearty or sweet afternoon tea and in the evening the chalet staff serving a delicious three course dinner including wine in your own chalet.

Ski area Three Valleys

The village

We have a catered chalet in La Tania close to the pistes in La Tania. Named as the "New Born" of the Three Valley resorts La Tania is located in the Courchevel valley at an altitude of 1400 metres. Nestling between two traditional hamlets and sheltered by a spruce forest, La Tania blends perfectly into the natural surroundings. Often quoted "the best kept secret in the Three Valleys". La Tania is a great low-priced alternative to the neighbouring resorts of Méribel and Courchevel - with which it shares the same slopes. Its best appeal is the traffic free, pedestrian centre, its makes La Tania a perfect choice for families. La Tania chalets mainly surrounded by pine trees and of course the magnificent Alpine views. Families and groups who enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere after skiing favor the atmosphere of this leisurely paced resort. Après-ski is less expensive and formal than its neighbouring resorts. In the evenings it can, however get very lively at one of the few bars in La Tania, with regular live bands that can be found at the Ski Lodge Pub and what can only be described as an intimate but buzzing atmosphere. A large telecabine serves La Tania giving the non-skiers a chance to meet and enjoy lunch or even an end of ski Vin Chaud, reportedly the best around at Le Bouc Blanc restaurant. A free bus service to Courchevel 1850, during the day means that it's also possible to meet friends at different restaurants during the day or just to browse the endless array of fashionable shops. The village itself is fairly quiet as accommodation is predominantly away from the main street, which is home to a mixture of French and English bars and restaurants, ski shops with a huge range of kids' equipment, and ski schools that specialise in lessons for little ones. Adults haven't been ignored in La Tania. There are also several restaurants close by for lunchtime meals or to try out on your chalet staff's night off from pizzas and crèpes to the more sophisticated offerings from Taïga and the Michelin-starred Farçon. There is a regular, free bus service from La Tania to both Courchevel and Méribel, just down the road, so you also have a number of other options for evening entertainment.

The ski area

La Tania is a quaint and charming pretty traffic free village nestled in the trees between Courchevel and Meribel.  It has easy access to the whole Three Valleys areas from its 12 person high-speed gondola lift, which brings you up to the "Col de la Loze" above Courchevel 1850. La Tania snow record: La Tania has an excellent snow record: many of the slopes above la Tania are north facing; the Trois Vallees is renowned for its piste maintenance; there are snow cannons throughout the Trois Vallees including the route back to la Tania. Ski La Tania & the Three Valleys: Les Trois Vallees needs little introduction as one of the world`s great ski holiday destinations. It incorporates the ski resorts of Courchevel (including la Tania), Méribel and Val Thorens, and with 200 ski lifts, 600km of pistes and 1500 snow cannons, you can be assured of quality skiing throughout the winter ski season. The 1230 snow cannons, including snow cannons installed on the lower half of the run into La Tania, ensure snow cover is maintained to optimal conditions throughout the season. Covered on a Courchevel lift pass, you can access the whole valley very easily from La Tania, and within a couple of lifts you can also take advantage of the rest of the ‘Trois Vallées' by skiing right down into Méribel, then up and over to Val Thorens. The La Tania area itself features quieter intermediate pistes, with some of the best kept powder to be found on the ‘Dou des Lanches' sector. There are some wonderful runs back into resort: the long and winding green run, 'Plan Fontaine', and the fabulous undulating tree-lined blue, ‘Folyères'. If you're not racing back for afternoon tea, stop for a moment and inhale the potent aroma of the pine trees surrounding you. For snowboarders there is a fun park in Courchevel 1850 with a half pipe and plenty of jumps.
